attack of the army blanket

I finally found time and the heart to start cutting up an old swiss army blanket to make into cushions and also bags. I am always unsure what to do in situations of historic remnants. When I bought the blanket it felt kind of gloomy and yuk, and made me think of where it had been. So I washed it and now it seems to have a new life and hopefully a happier one.... Although I must remember to shut my sewing / computer / study door as young Arthur decided to get handy with the scissors and cut into a nice 50x50cm piece yet to be made. Oh well guess that cushion will lose a few centimetres now.

That cushion is great. I really love reincarnated craft - it's good for the planet & the soul.

Hello and welcome to blogging. Arthur's circus sounds very exciting !!! Lovely cushion as well. I collect vintage fabrics - particualrly chenille and undertsand how you feel.

I'm always on the look out for an army blanket. But sadly I've yet to come across one. I would love to do a cushion with a red cross mixed with the grey.

Wonderful cushion! Welcome to blogland and yes I too have to lock away all the scissors/pins/needles/sewing machine or who knows what might happen!
